Mizoram is highly underrated destination. Deep valleys, exotic culture, salubrious climate and rare natural flora and fauna are the reasons why Mizoram is worth exploring.

First, head to Phawngpui or the Blue Mountain, the state’s highest peak overlooking the very picturesque Chhimtuipui River. It is perched atop 2160 m above the sea level and is surrounded by breathtaking cliffs and beautiful flower gardens. You will get splendid views of scarlet skies at dawn and dusk and will be able to spot exotic Himalayan animals here.

It is famous for orchids and rhododendrons. There is a semi-circular beautiful cliff on the western side called Thlazuang Kham. The mountain road takes one through the lush green hills across Chhimtuipui River, climbs up the hills winding up gradually and comes across few cascades which are a photographer’s delight! Evening, on reaching the second last border village called South Vanlaiphai. Night in rest house. Option: Paragliding in Thenzawl (2 extra nights)

Day 3

Vanlaiphai - Phawngpui BC

After breakfast, drive to Sangau where you will start trekking to Blue mountain base camp. Night in tent.

Day 4

Phawngpui BC

After morning tea, you’ll go for a hike to the summit, where at the top, a mesmerizing scene of Kolodyne River shrouded by mist could be viewed with Myanmar and India on both sides. It is better to start early morning because of the scenic view this place offered. It really is a fascinating sight and certainly a photographer’s delight. Return to Base Camp. Night in tent.

Day 5

Phawngpui BC - Hmuifang

After having breakfast you’ll go down to Sangau and drive towards Hmuifang Mountain culminating at 1620 m above sea level.
