This exclusive itinerary takes you from Northeast India to Myammar. You will start you journey in Assam, the gateway to the north-east, a state known for its breath taking scenic beauty, rarest flora and fauna, lofty green hills, vast rolling plain, mighty waterways and a land of fairs and festivals. You will explore the beautiful Kaziranga National Park famous for its one-horned rhino and endless fauna. Your trip will lead you to Majuli, one of the biggest river islands in the world and visit the vaishnavite satras. Your journey continues to Nagaland, the land of the fierce head-hunters. Life in Nagaland is replete with festivals throughout the year as all the tribes have their own festivals, which they greatly cherish. You will then head to Manipur, the land of rich valleys surrounded by beautiful hills and lakes, a land of gentle people full of laughter and joy. You will also relax on the banks of the beautiful Loktal Lake before heading to the Indo-Burma border and explore the Golden Land. Only a few cheeky travellers have visited Myanmar or crossed Myanmar in its entirety, from North to South: Be one of the first to realize this incredible adventure and go down in history!
Arrival in DibrugarhWelcome at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Night in hotel.
Dibrugarh - PasighatWe leave the hotel at 6:30 AM for the Dibrugarh ferry terminal. A two-hour, local ferry across the braided flow of the Brahmaputra awaits us. Keep an eye out for freshwater dolphin during the winter months! After reaching the other side of the Brahmaputra, we transfer to a bus for the journey to Arunachal Pradesh's border post. There we clear entry with our Restricted Area Permits, and continue on to reach our hotel in Pasighat by early afternoon. The afternoon is free to explore Pasighat's traditional market, buy souvenirs, and explore. Night in basic hotel.
Pasighat - AlongToday you will move to Along. Enroute visit Adi (Minyong) tribal village to see the colourful peoples, their dances and culture. Night in hotel.
Day 4 & 5
AlongYou’ll experience life in a hospitable Galo household preparing for the Mopin festival. Witness tribal rituals, taste festive dishes and delicious rice and home-brewed local rice wines that are available only during this festival. You participate in the festivities with your hosts, helping out with the preparations and cooking, amid cross-cultural conversations and generally immerse yourselves into their way of life during your stay here, joining in with their traditional costume dances and general revelry of course! You’ll meet animist shamans, priests and tribal community leaders for conversations about both traditional contemporary aspects of their culture, and optionally, trek to a remote village to experience tribal culture. Night in hotel.
Along - PasighatToday morning leave for Pasighat enroute visiting more tribal villages. On arrival, check-in at your hotel. Evening sightseeing of Pasighat town. Night in basic hotel. Option: Trekking to Komsing Village (2 to 4 days)
Pasighat - DibrugarhDrive upto Oiramghat where we enter Assam to take the ferry across the braided flow of the Brahmaputra. Keep an eye out for freshwater dolphin during the winter months! After reaching the other side of the Brahmaputra, drive to Dibrugarh. Evening walk around town. Night in hotel.
Departure from DibrugarhTransfer to the airport. End of our services.
